A recipe: Omelette


What do we eat?

Nowadays, here in Argentona, we eat a great variety of food. We eat meat, fish, vegetables, eggs, milk, rice etc, but we have a few typical dishes, which are: omelette, paella, a simple salad and the most famous here in Catalonia: the catalan cream.
Here you have the recipe for omelette. Hope you like it.
           
  • Ingredients:
-       4 eggs
-       ½ kg of potatoes
-       Sunflower oil (1/4 L)
-       Salt
  • Preparation: To cook the omelette we have to perform three steps.
-          Step 1: Wash and cut the potatoes in thin slices. Once the oil is hot, add the potatoes, adding salt and fry them. When they are golden, separate them and it’s important to drain oil in a colander or on a plate with paper towels.
-          Step 2: Beat the eggs with a little salt and once beaten add the potatoes, mixing well with the beaten eggs.
-          Step 3: Prepare the pan again with two spoonful of oil that cover the bottom of the pan. Add the egg mixture and the potatoes. Tip: shake the pan so the omelette doesn’t get stuck. When it looks that is cooked, put a lid on top and turn it over (it’s easy, you just have to do it safely). You can do this until it’s golden on both sides according to taste. An that’s our omelette. Also you can add onion according to taste.
